Tastes like bitter

So I love the new Taylor Swift cd. Love, love, love. I've had it on repeat all weekend.

But is it just me, or does girlfriend drift too far into Bittertown on a few of these tracks? I get wanting to speak your mind, but I've always thought of Tay-Tay as a lady on the high road.

Maybe it's time to reconsider that. Just sayin'.

And I can see you years from now in a bar,
Talking over a football game,
With that same big loud opinion but,
Nobody’s listening,
Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things,
Drunk and grumbling on about how I can’t sing.

But all you are is mean,
All you are is mean.
And a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life,
And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean

She's not a saint and she's not what you think
She's an actress, Whoa
She's better known for the things that she does
on the mattress, Whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other people's toys on the playground
Won't make you many friends
She should keep in mind,
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, Ha

Well maybe it's me and my blind optimism to blame
Maybe it's you and your sick need to give love then take it away
And you'll add my name to your long list of traitors who don't understand
And I'll look back and regret how I ignored when they said "run as fast as you can"

  1. Agreed. We should reconsider how angelic Miss Swift really is. Taking revenge so publicly is definitely not a classy move.

  2. I love love love how she's taken to music to voice her anger. I mean, how many chicks can identify with her pain? Also, I think the lyric "She's better known for the things that she does
on the mattress" is perfection. Sheer perfection. Plus, I think since she IS the nice girl, it sucks to be the nice girl and get left for the slut. No one likes that.

I guess my point is, there are worse things that she could do after a break up. :)

  3. I almost got it the other day from Target. They have a special edition one with four or five extra tracks.
