Cake with dots

I'm trying to practice decorating cakes. Only way to get better, right?

I got a bigger frosting spatula. That certainly helped. And I think I'm finally getting the hang of big beads.

But this cake was so lop-sided! I think the actual cake recipe I used was too soft for stacking. I had a hard time even leveling it.

But it sure was tasty. I found the recipe via pinterest - it's for cupcakes, but I made three 8" rounds. And put lemon curd in between. Tasty.
