Friday we were blessed to attend an endowment session at the Salt Lake Temple. It's such a beautiful building, inside and out. The Spirit was definitely very strong there. Some thoughts:
- Holy gracious do they do a lot of weddings there. We thought it wouldn't be super busy on Friday at 10 a.m. Wrong. We had to fight our way past five brides and their families. Including one couple who were hard core making out (awk-ward....)
- We did not make the 10 a.m. session, as intended. We got there in time but couldn't figure out how to get IN the building! Did you know you don't actually go into the main part of the temple? There's another building several yards away... you enter there and go underground into the temple. Dang. Did not know this. We got in at 9:55 so we had to wait another hour for the 11 o'clock session. At least we got to enjoy being there and the beautiful organ music.
- It's different! All the moving! Can't believe how big it is. I'm glad someone was guiding us or I would have for sure got lost. I like the live action - some how makes it seem more real and less real at the same time. And being a visual person, I picked up a few things this time I've missed in times before. Way cool.
- I'd like to go to conference at the conference center sometime. Just sayin'.
Oh yeah, between the BYU semesters the SLC temple is pummeled by couples being sealed. (Summer in general is busy, but between semesters? I imagine it's a bit chaotic.)
ReplyDeleteThe MoTab Choir sounds incredible in the conference center. You should request tickets for a conference and go up again!
